- Olga interviews Nitin Manchanda, founder of SEO agency Botpresso based in Berlin, Germany.
- Nitin started his career in 2012 as a software engineer but got pulled into SEO and loved it.
Early SEO Experience
- Started in SEO at Indian e-commerce company Flipkart with no prior knowledge.
- Ran experiments on small sections of site to prove SEO value before expanding.
- Built “magic pages” filtering products by attributes that quickly ranked.
- Applied learnings to solve issues like duplicate product pages across gender categories.
- Grew SEO team and capabilities at multiple Indian startups.
Enterprise SEO at Trivago
- Joined Trivago in Germany as Product Owner for SEO with 55 markets.
- Learned patience – changes rolled out gradually to avoid negative user impact.
- Promoted to Global Head of SEO with full ownership of SEO.
- Built programmatic SEO tools leveraging engineering team.
- Graph theory algorithm achieved 99% internal link coverage.
Transition to Consultancy
- Wanted to start own consultancy Botpresso. Began as solo consultant in COVID.
- Quickly realized need for team to meet demand and avoid blocking clients.
- Now 16 fully remote employees, focused on enterprise and international SEO.
- Loves solving challenges at scale – $5M+ SEO revenue/month for clients.
- Aims to make Botpresso best employer – fun, growth, work/life balance.
