Why Wix SEO Is a Different Beast (and Needs an Expert)
Wix makes building a website simple—but getting that site to rank in Google is a different story. Yes, the platform has improved a lot, and yes, it offers built-in SEO tools. But using those tools properly—and working around what Wix doesn’t do by default—takes experience.
Optimizing a Wix site isn’t the same as optimizing WordPress, Shopify, or Squarespace. It has its own structure, limitations, and quirks that most SEOs overlook completely.
Common Wix SEO Myths
Let’s clear up a few things I hear all the time from frustrated site owners:
-
“Wix sites can’t rank well.”
False. I’ve ranked plenty of Wix websites. You just need to know how to optimize them properly. -
“Wix doesn’t have real SEO features.”
Wrong. Wix offers customizable meta tags, image alt text, structured data support, and full Google Search Console integration (https://tattvammedia.com/blog/wix-seo-myths-busted/) -
“Wix templates are bad for SEO.”
Some templates are bloated or need work—but nearly every Wix site can be fixed and optimized for performance and crawlability (https://www.wix.com/seo/learn/wix-seo-guide)
Why Generic SEO Advice Doesn’t Work on Wix
Most SEO advice you find online assumes you’re using WordPress or a custom CMS. But Wix doesn’t work like that.
Wix uses a unique structure, adaptive mobile design, and a backend that many SEO tools misread or oversimplify.
Plugins won’t fix core issues. And most “SEO checklists” completely miss what’s actually holding your site back.

Technical Aspects That Make Wix SEO Different
Here are a few examples of why Wix SEO requires a different approach:
- Adaptive Design
Wix uses adaptive, not responsive design—this can cause issues with mobile rendering if not reviewed manually. - Structured Data
Wix supports schema markup, but advanced custom schemas (like multi-type or nested schemas) often need manual implementation. - URL Structure
Wix lets you edit URLs, but it still adds complexity with automatic folders, dynamic pages, and parameter handling that must be cleaned up to avoid crawl issues or duplication.

Why You Need a Wix SEO Consultant
Wix gives you the tools—but it doesn’t guide you on how to use them properly. That’s where an experienced Wix SEO consultant makes all the difference.
I’ve spent years auditing and optimizing Wix sites—many of them built by clients who followed all the “SEO best practices” and still couldn’t rank. I know what works on Wix, what doesn’t, and how to get around the platform’s blind spots without breaking your site.
If your Wix site is stuck, half-indexed, or buried under competitors who shouldn’t outrank you, it’s probably not your fault. You just need someone who knows how to make Wix work with Google—not against it.
Book your SEO Reality Check and see exactly what’s holding your site back.

I’ve worked with global brands, law firms, e-commerce sites, SaaS companies, and small local businesses. But no matter the size, every site I touch gets the same deep, strategic treatment.
I’m not an agency. I don’t delegate your audit. I do the work myself—about 90% of it. When you hire me, you get direct access to a real Wix SEO consultant, not a junior staffer or automated tool.
Over 13 Years of SEO Across All Major Platforms (Including Wix)
I’ve optimized more than 1,500 websites across nearly every CMS—Wix, WordPress, Shopify, custom builds, and more. I’ve seen how Wix has evolved over the years, and I know exactly how to work around its limitations to deliver results.
I Build and Migrate Wix Sites Myself
Unlike most SEOs, I don’t just audit Wix—I use it. I’ve personally built multiple websites on Wix from scratch, and I’ve migrated websites from WordPress, Shopify, and other platforms to Wix while preserving rankings and avoiding traffic loss. That means I know exactly how to avoid the SEO traps most people fall into during a migration or rebuild.
500+ In-Depth Website Audits (Including Dozens of Wix Sites)
My specialty is auditing. I’ve done more than 500 full website audits, including many for Wix users. I focus on technical SEO, on-page fixes, content structure, and Google Search Console cleanup. Whether you’re launching a new Wix site, recovering from a failed migration, or cleaning up after years of SEO neglect—I can help.
Trusted by Global Brands, Agencies & Small Businesses Alike
I’ve helped brands like Procter & Gamble, LG, Ikea, and top law and finance firms. I’ve also helped countless small businesses rank locally and grow their organic traffic. Most clients stay with me for 5+ years—not because they’re locked in, but because the results speak for themselves.
I also teach other SEOs how to audit through my SEO Audit Mastery Course, which shows my exact methods and is used by consultants around the world.
Official Wix SEO Expert (Recognized by Wix)
I’m proud to be featured in the Wix SEO Learning Hub as a trusted expert.

Common Wix SEO Horror Stories (That A Wix SEO Expert Can Fix)
I’ve worked with a lot of Wix websites—enough to spot patterns. The same SEO problems pop up again and again.
Most of them could’ve been avoided with a proper audit or a quick check in Google Search Console.
But instead, these issues go unnoticed until traffic crashes, rankings disappear, or the site never gets indexed at all.
Here are a few horror stories I’ve seen over and over:
“Optimized” Pages That Never Show in Google
One of the most common problems. A client tells me, “We optimized the page—meta title, meta description, H1—it’s all there.” Except it’s not in Google’s index. At all.
What was really wrong?
- The page had a noindex tag added by mistake
- No internal links pointed to it
- The content was thin and duplicate
- The page speed was terrible—Googlebot timed out
What I did:
Removed the noindex, added internal links, rewrote content, and cleaned up the code. I resubmitted the page in GSC, and within a week, it was indexed and ranking for its main keyword.
Wix Site Live for Months… But Not Indexed
This happens more than it should. A client launches their shiny new Wix site, waits, and waits… but none of the pages show up in search.
The root cause?
- No XML sitemap submitted
- Homepage was disallowed in robots.txt
- Site had no backlinks or crawlable links
- Wix’s mobile version was broken, killing rendering
My fix:
I fixed the robots.txt file, cleaned up the mobile layout, submitted the sitemap manually, and built a few foundational backlinks. Within days, pages started to get indexed.
Traffic Gone After a DIY “Redesign” or Migration to Wix
This one is brutal. A site gets redesigned in Wix and loses most of its organic traffic.
Every time it’s the same issues:
- No redirects from old URLs
- Page titles and content completely changed
- Structured data deleted
- Internal links broken
- Site hierarchy flattened or lost
How I fixed it:
I recreated their old URL structure, added 301 redirects, rebuilt internal links, recovered lost content, and restructured the navigation. Most of the traffic came back within a few months.
Wix Structured Data Nightmares from DIY “Schema”
Wix lets you add structured data, but many site owners go wild with copy-pasted schema that breaks more than it helps.
What goes wrong?
- Multiple conflicting schema types on one page
- Missing required properties
- Spammy “review” markup that violates Google’s rules
- Copy-pasted JSON with syntax errors
What I did:
I removed all the broken schema, rewrote it from scratch using valid JSON-LD tailored to the page content, and validated every page. CTR improved within weeks once rich snippets started showing.

What Wix SEO Expert Olga Zarr Can Do (That Plugins Can’t)
Wix gives you built-in SEO tools, and there are plenty of apps and plugins that promise to “optimize” your site. But let’s be real—SEO plugins aren’t SEO strategy.
They won’t fix broken internal links, they won’t clean up crawl issues, and they definitely won’t tell you why your site isn’t showing up in Google.
That’s where I come in.
I do the work that plugins can’t. I manually analyze, interpret, and optimize—based on real experience, not checklists or alerts.
Here’s what I actually do for Wix websites (among other things):
✅ Fix crawlability and indexation issues in Google Search Console
✅ Clean up robots.txt and noindex problems
✅ Submit and troubleshoot XML sitemaps
✅ Audit Core Web Vitals and improve speed, LCP, CLS
✅ Compress images and switch to WebP format
✅ Remove template bloat and unused scripts
✅ Add structured data manually (LocalBusiness, Product, FAQPage, etc.)
✅ Fix schema validation errors in Rich Results Test
✅ Map keywords to the right pages based on intent
✅ Avoid keyword cannibalization and thin content
✅ Build logical site structure and internal linking
✅ Optimize title tags, H1s, and meta descriptions
✅ Create and restructure content hubs and landing pages
✅ Rewrite thin or duplicate pages
✅ Remove or redirect zombie pages
✅ Clean up messy URLs and remove dynamic parameters
✅ Add breadcrumb navigation and silo structure
✅ Set up and monitor Google Search Console and GA4
✅ Build Looker Studio dashboards for traffic, CTR, and rankings
✅ Fully optimize your Google Business Profile
✅ Connect GBP to the right location page
✅ Add local schema and city-specific content
✅ Audit and fix local citations
✅ Track local SEO performance by city and keyword
✅ Analyze top competitors in your niche
✅ Identify content and backlink gaps
✅ Find SERP features you’re missing and plan to win them
✅ Handle Wix redesigns and failed migrations
✅ Create redirect maps and monitor launch impact
✅ Review all your tools and cut the noise
✅ Prioritize actions that actually impact SEO
And many more.
This is the stuff plugins can’t do—and most SEOs skip.
If you’re using Wix and still not getting results, it’s probably because no one’s doing this work.

My Proven SEO Process for Wix Websites
Every SEO project I take on follows a clear, hands-on process—no shortcuts, no templates. It’s fully manual, built on real data from tools like Cora SEO, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console, and tailored to your specific business. I’ve used this exact process to help Wix websites recover traffic, rank locally, scale nationally, and actually grow.
Here’s how I guide each client—from first audit to long-term success:
1. Wix SEO Reality Check (Required First Step)
This is where everything starts. You get a mini audit and a 90-minute strategy call with me. I show you exactly what’s holding your site back and whether we’re a good fit to work together. No fluff. No commitments. Just clarity.
2. Wix Client Questionnaire
If we move forward, you’ll complete a detailed intake form. I’ll dig into your business model, past SEO work, growth goals, and key challenges. This helps me define the right KPIs, focus on what matters, and build a plan that fits how you operate.
3. Full In-Depth Wix SEO Audit (40+ hours)
This is a manual audit—no automation, no templates. I audit every technical and content element of your Wix site across 200+ checkpoints. This includes:
- Technical SEO
- On-page SEO
- Internal linking
- Crawlability & indexation
- Schema & structured data
- Google Search Console errors
- Keyword alignment
- Site structure
- UX signals
- Competitor benchmarks
The result? A detailed SEO blueprint for the next 6–12 months.
4. Wix Site Keyword Research & Mapping (+ Entity Mapping)
I conduct deep, intent-based keyword research that reflects how your customers actually search—not what generic keyword tools say. I assign keywords to every important URL and ensure you avoid cannibalization, over-optimization, or chasing irrelevant traffic.
5. Wix SEO Strategy Formulation
Based on audit findings, I create a tactical SEO roadmap—customized to your business, budget, and timeline. You’ll know what to fix, what to create, and in what order. This isn’t some cookie-cutter template. It’s a real strategy backed by real data.
6. Execution & Implementation
Once you approve the strategy, I begin executing (or guide your internal team). I fix technical issues, rewrite key pages, improve site architecture, clean up schema, build internal links, and launch new pages—everything aligned with the strategy.
7. Wix Site Ongoing Optimization & Reporting
I track your performance through Looker Studio dashboards, Search Console, and live reports. You get clear monthly updates: what improved, what’s next, and what to watch. If Google rolls out an update, I monitor the impact and react quickly.
This isn’t plug-and-play SEO. It’s 100% hands-on, built from scratch, and based on what actually works—especially with Wix websites, where generic advice often leads you in the wrong direction.

Why Most SEO Consultants Fail on Wix SEO
Hiring a typical SEO consultant for a Wix site often leads to wasted time, missed issues, and zero results. Here’s why:
-
Generic tools miss platform-specific issues
Most consultants rely on tools like Semrush or Surfer SEO that don’t fully understand how Wix structures pages, handles rendering, or manages internal linking. These tools often show false positives—or completely miss real issues hidden in Wix’s backend. -
Most SEOs don’t know how Wix works
They assume Wix works like WordPress or Shopify. It doesn’t. Wix has a unique setup for mobile rendering, structured data, image handling, URL formats, and even crawl paths. SEOs who don’t know these quirks end up giving advice that either doesn’t work—or breaks things. -
Most “audits” are automated PDFs you could Google
A lot of so-called audits are just exports from SEO tools. They’re filled with technical jargon, no prioritization, and generic advice like “Add more keywords to your H1.” They don’t explain what actually matters, what’s urgent, or what you should ignore.
What a Wix SEO Expert Does Instead
- I audit manually—tools help me collect data, but they don’t write your audit.
- I test everything in Google Search Console, on real devices, and in live SERPs.
- I give you a clear, prioritized action plan—no jargon, no filler, no fluff.
If your past SEO efforts went nowhere, it’s probably not your site—it’s the strategy. Let’s fix that.
What Wix Clients Say (Testimonials/Case Studies)

Wix SEO Consultant FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
If you’re thinking about hiring a Wix SEO consultant, you probably have a few questions—and maybe some doubts. I get it. There’s a lot of bad SEO advice out there, and most Wix site owners have already been burned by generic strategies, bloated audits, or agencies that didn’t deliver.
Below are the most common questions I get—from platform concerns to timelines, pricing, and what makes my process different. Every answer is based on real experience, not theory.
Do you only work as a Wix SEO consultant?
Yes, I specialize in working with Wix websites, but I also consult on WordPress and other platforms. As a Wix SEO consultant, I know exactly how to get results within the Wix environment.
Can a Wix SEO consultant really improve my Google rankings?
Absolutely. A good Wix SEO consultant knows how to work around the platform’s limitations and optimize everything from crawlability to structured data.
Do I need to switch from Wix to improve SEO?
No. With the right Wix SEO consultant, you can rank just as well as sites on WordPress or Shopify. Platform isn’t the problem—poor strategy is.
What’s included in your services as a Wix SEO consultant?
As a Wix SEO consultant, I provide technical audits, on-page fixes, local SEO, structured data, keyword mapping, and full tracking setup via Google Search Console and Looker Studio.
What’s the difference between the Mini Audit and a full Wix SEO audit?
The Mini Audit gives you a quick snapshot and strategy call. The full Wix SEO audit includes 200+ checkpoints, manual analysis, and a complete SEO roadmap.
How long does it take a Wix SEO consultant to show results?
Depending on the site and goals, you can start seeing movement within 4–8 weeks. A solid Wix SEO consultant will give you realistic timelines—not false promises.
Do you implement the changes or just provide advice?
As a Wix SEO consultant, I offer both—DIY guidance with clear instructions, or hands-on implementation if you prefer I take the wheel.
How do I know if my previous Wix SEO consultant did a good job?
A proper audit will reveal whether your last Wix SEO consultant actually fixed anything. I often uncover missed issues and bad advice.
Can a Wix SEO consultant help with Core Web Vitals?
Yes, I audit and fix speed, LCP, CLS, and more. A real Wix SEO consultant knows how to deal with template bloat and rendering delays.
Will you optimize my Google Business Profile too?
Absolutely. As a Wix SEO consultant, I also optimize GBP and make sure it works together with your Wix site for better local rankings.
Can you help with blog SEO on Wix?
Yes. A Wix SEO consultant can help structure, optimize, and promote your blog content for visibility and ranking growth.
Is Wix SEO really that different?
Yes, and that’s why hiring a Wix SEO consultant matters. The platform handles code, rendering, and links differently than most CMSs.
Do you guarantee SEO results on Wix?
No one can guarantee rankings. But as an experienced Wix SEO consultant, I provide a proven process and transparent tracking so you always know where you stand.
How often do you update your Wix SEO strategies?
Constantly. As a Wix SEO consultant, I track every Google update and adjust your strategy as needed—usually before competitors even notice.
Can a Wix SEO consultant help with local SEO for multiple locations?
Yes. I build location pages, add local schema, and make your GBP listings work together with your Wix site.
What if my site looks fine but still doesn’t rank?
That’s common. A Wix SEO consultant can uncover hidden technical issues that tools miss—like crawl traps, indexation problems, and schema errors.
Do you offer one-time help or only long-term plans?
Both. Many clients start with a Mini Audit. Others hire me as their Wix SEO consultant on a monthly retainer.
Is working with a Wix SEO consultant expensive?
You’re paying for clarity, not guesswork. A smart investment in the right Wix SEO consultant often pays off fast in rankings, traffic, and leads.
Can you train my team in Wix SEO?
Yes. I offer team training and walkthroughs. A Wix SEO consultant should make your team smarter, not confused.
Do you fix mobile SEO issues on Wix?
Yes. As a Wix SEO consultant, I handle mobile rendering issues, speed fixes, and mobile-first indexing priorities.
How is your audit different from other Wix SEO consultants?
Mine is 100% manual—no exported checklists. I go through every issue by hand, test in GSC, and explain every fix clearly.
Can a Wix SEO consultant help recover lost traffic?
Definitely. I specialize in fixing failed migrations and post-update traffic drops for Wix sites.
Do I need ongoing SEO after a Wix audit?
Most sites do. A Wix SEO consultant helps implement the strategy over time, track results, and adapt to Google changes.
What makes you different from other Wix SEO consultants?
I’ve done 500+ audits, work hands-on, and actually understand how Wix works. No outsourcing, no fluff.
Will my Wix site ever rank like a WordPress site?
Yes—if it’s optimized properly. A Wix SEO consultant can help you achieve the same rankings and visibility with the right setup.
Do I need backlinks for my Wix site to rank?
Eventually, yes—but not before fixing the basics. A good Wix SEO consultant starts with site health before link-building.
Can you fix my structured data on Wix?
Yes. I write custom schema manually. As a Wix SEO consultant, I don’t rely on glitchy plugins for critical markup.
Will you help me pick the right keywords for my Wix site?
Of course. Keyword research and mapping is one of the first things a Wix SEO consultant should deliver.
Do you work with Wix SEO for ecommerce sites?
Yes. I help optimize product listings, categories, site structure, and speed for Wix ecom stores.
Can you help me get featured snippets with Wix SEO?
Absolutely. A Wix SEO consultant knows how to optimize content for featured snippets, PAA boxes, and other SERP features.
What tools do you use as a Wix SEO consultant?
I use Screaming Frog, Cora SEO, Sitebulb, Search Console, Looker Studio, and more—always manually interpreted.
Do Wix apps hurt SEO?
Sometimes. A Wix SEO consultant can audit your plugins and remove what’s slowing down or blocking your site.
Can a Wix SEO consultant improve my image rankings?
Yes. I optimize filenames, alt text, compression, and sitemaps for better image search performance.
Do you track SEO progress month-to-month?
Yes. Every Wix SEO consultant should show monthly reporting tied to traffic, visibility, and rankings—mine does.
How do I get started with you as my Wix SEO consultant?
Simple—book the SEO Reality Check. It’s the first step in working with me as your Wix SEO consultant and getting a clear, actionable plan.
